As I shared at the end of my May 1 message, some big changes are happening for me. I have been teaching for Glomos – the pastoral training ministry of Global Action, for the past four plus years in several countries. The outgoing president, Phil Long, and the Global Action board have offered me the president’s position, which I have accepted. I made this decision after much prayer and struggle. The struggle has been that I have loved what I do here as a teaching pastor and pastor of discipleship. In my six years at Northern Hills, I have grown very close to the staff and to many of you in our congregation and see God doing great things here. In one sense I am not leaving, Northern Hills is sending me to continue Kingdom work with Global Action. Northern Hills will continue to be my church home, and I will continue to teach as my schedule allows on Sunday mornings. I will be using the month of May to transition, working part time for the church and part time for Global Action. Certain aspects of my ministry here may take a bit longer, specifically my counseling ministry. As I transition to Global Action, I want to continue to represent Northern Hills well as you support me in your prayers. My prayer is for all of God’s best for us as we trust Him to continue to guide us into the future.
