Dear Northern Hills,

December already, can you believe it? The weather has definitely started to get colder and we have even seen some of the white stuff in the air. Spending some time with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, sitting in front of the fire, with those you love is sounding better and better.

With the busyness of the holidays I want to remind you of just a few things:

  • Christmas Eve services will be held at 2:00pm, 3:30pm and 5:00pm, and a candlelight services at 10:00pm. These will be services for the whole family as there will not be Foundry or Eikon programming.  Come early as our worship arts team has been working hard to make this an experience you won’t want to miss.
  • Sign up for serving on Christmas Eve is available each Sunday in the Café. Great opportunity, especially if you have never served at NH, your involvement will make a difference.
  • Because our staff and volunteers will be serving all day Christmas Eve, we will not have services on Sunday, December 25 and our building will remain closed through December 27 to allow for some extra family time. The building will re-open Wednesday, December 28.
  • On New Year’s Day we will have one combined service at 10:00am along with Foundry programming for newborn through 5th grade. (No Eikon service)

With all of the joy that comes with the holidays, there are still many people who feel hopeless and afraid. Let’s keep our hearts sensitive to those around us and be ready to offer a word of comfort and hope and being willing to point them to Jesus.

Romans 15:13 says, “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

I hope you know how much I love you all. I feel truly blessed to be part of this church family. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas from my family to yours.
